Congress Appears Ready to Approve War Bills

But Democrats have withdrawn funds that would be used to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center in an effort to stem rising criticism from Republicans as to where detainees would then be transferred.

Closing Guantanamo Bay and moving it to someplace else is just the kind of cosmetic-only change we can believe in!  Congress won't pay for it, but that doesn't mean they don't beleive in it.

The Jobless Rate, Slow to Improve, Tests Obama

The lag between recovery and falling unemployment carries multiple potential consequences for President Obama's agenda.

"Slow to Improve" in human-speak means that there is no improvement. The least of their problems is the taking of  Congress by conservatives in 2010. Now there's something to hope for.
